Academic Awards

I was awarded the Top Paper in the Advertising Division at the 1996 annual convention of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications.

I was the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communications Cobb Endowment Scholar for 1995-1996.

I am a member of Kappa Tau Alpha National Honor Society (top 10% of graduates), North Carolina-Chapel Hill Chapter.

I received Cruise Palmer Distinguished Professor Award at K-State 2001-2002.

Professional Awards

My agency received an two Addys from the Charlotte Advertising Club, a gold in 1989 in Annual Reports, and in 1991 in Promotions. We also placed several designs in the 1989 PRINT Magazine Design Annual and were featured by HOW Magazine as an up and coming agency in 1990. I also received numerous awards during my newspaper career, mainly for reporting on social issues.
